Getting Active

Sports and physical activity are an integral part of growing up. The St. Michael's athletics program stresses the development of each child's physical coordination, and works to instill in a healthy sense of teamwork, of sportsmanship, and of playing fair.

From pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten through the fifth grade, P.E. classes meet twice a week. Team sports begin in Middle School, and replace the formal P.E. curriculum.

Team Sports

All Middle School students are required to participate in sports throughout the year. This is a four-days-a-week commitment - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - from 3:00 to 4:30.

Each season, both boys and girls have the opportunity to play on school teams. Fifth and sixth graders play on the "B" teams, while seventh and eighth graders play on the "A" teams. Teams play soccer or tennis in the fall, basketball in the winter, and lacrosse in the spring.

For complete details, check out each season individually. The schedule can always be found on the School Calendar. Results may be posted on the Daily Mike.
