How We Get to Know Your Child

Not all grades have the same evaluation process. In addition to reviewing previous transcripts, recommendation letters, and test results, we recommend evaluating students through campus visits.

Preschool Students

If your child is a Preschool applicant, we ask that they attend an afternoon, 45 minute screening held in late February and March. These screenings are conducted by the preschool faculty and the Lower School head and are used to determine your child's academic and social readiness.

Prekindergarten

Candidates for our Prekindergarten program are asked to spend a 1/2 day in class with their potential classmates.

Kindergarten Through Grade Eight

If your child is applying for grades one through eight, we ask that they spend two days at St. Michael's to allow them to experience a typical St. Michael's school day, and also complete the age-appropriate admission testing.
